Stamatios Orfanos is a PhD candidate in the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus, focusing on Vision and Language Models for Image Classification, Segmentation, and Analysis. He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer and Telecommunications Technologies from the same department in 2021, and in 2024 completed a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with NCSR “Demokritos”. His professional journey began at Logicea, where he progressed from intern to software engineer, developing scalable backend applications using Java and GraphQL. During his military service in the Hellenic Air Force, he served as an Information Technology Specialist and Personnel Manager, ensuring the operational integrity of the base’s IT systems. At Bioassist, as an AI Architect & Engineer, he led the integration of deep learning models with wearable sensor data and cloud infrastructure, delivering end-to-end pipelines and MLOps solutions tailored for embedded and cloud environments. His work consistently bridges academic research with real-world healthcare applications, with a growing focus on multimodal data and the use of wearable AI.
